kidsLINK Annual Gourmet Trail Event

Waterloo - kidsLINK will once again host their Annual Gourmet Trail at Bingeman’s on Saturday, April 25th, 2009. For eleven years running this highly anticipated event will welcome guests to experience gourmet foods at local restaurants while contributing to a good cause.

This year approximately 320 guests will board 7 different and unforgettable bus tours to sample menus prepared by some of the area’s most popular restaurants. A silent and live auction following the bus tours will raise additional funds in sole support of kidsLINK’s Respite program. The items are donated by companies and individuals in the tri‐city area. This year’s auction will be hosted by local area personality Angie Hill.

Guest speaker, Laura Coughlin, will also share with the guests her story. Laura and her husband Al are the parents of 8 children. They have faced many challenges through the years and currently two of their children are using respite service.

Despite the recent the economic downturn, many local businesses have continued to show their support for the event through their sponsorship and auction donations. Regardless of economics, one fact always remains constant: the ever‐growing need for social services support.

Since its inception, the Gourmet Trail Event’s efforts have exclusively provided funding for the Respite Program. Without Gourmet Trail, the Respite Program ability to provide support and service to children and families in need would be greatly comprimised. This historically successful event helps to ensure the program will continue to be an integral part of Kitchener‐Waterloo and surrounding areas.
