John Weissenberger Appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canada Foundation for Innovation
OTTAWA - The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), today appointed Dr. John Weissenberger to the CFI's Board of Directors for a three-year term.
"I am very pleased to welcome Dr. Weissenberger to the CFI, and we look forward to his contribution to the Board," said Minister Clement. "Dr. Weissenberger's extensive management experience will greatly complement the work undertaken by the CFI and support the Foundation's world-class research capacity."
Dr. Weissenberger currently serves as Manager, International New Ventures for Husky Energy. He is responsible for building Husky Energy's corporate business position internationally, outside Southeast Asia.
Dr. Weissenberger has won numerous awards, including the Special CEO's Award, PanCanadian Petroleum in 2000, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG) Link Award (with Mark Cooper) for Best Technical Presentation in 1997 and the CSPG Conference Service Award in 1996.
Dr. Weissenberger holds a Master of Science from the Universite de Montreal and a Ph.D. from the University of Calgary.
