Subaru Canada: Best monthly sales ever

April is also an all-time monthly sales record for 2009 Forester

MISSISSAUGA - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is delighted to announce that it set an all-time monthly sales record in April. Total sales of its lineup of symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive vehicles reached 2,050 units, up 4.1 percent over last April. Total monthly sales beat the previous record, set in July of 2008, by 2.4 percent.

It was also an all-time record-breaking month for the Forester lineup. Canadians purchased 806 of these smart and sexy SUVs, a 35.9 percent improvement over last April, and 3.2 percent more than the monthly record set in June of 2008. Strong Impreza sales also made a significant contribution to the company's success in April, with the Impreza retailing 961 units, a 4.5 percent increase over last April.

With a successful kickoff to the All Weather Days spring sales campaign, SCI is taking the opportunity to build on last year's best-ever sales results. In fact, Subaru's Canadian sales are continuing to grow faster than any other Japanese manufacturer in 2009.

"Subaru is a logical choice for the market," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of SCI. "With road-tested Japanese reliability, class-leading safety standards and high residual value, Subaru customers are able to discover for themselves the true value of our vehicles."
