Rogers Broadcasting increases presence in Ontario

TORONTO - Rogers Broadcasting Limited (RBL) received CRTC approval on the purchase of radio stations K-Rock and KIX Country in Kingston, Ontario. Rogers had purchased a minority interest in these stations in 2000 and late last year made an arrangement to purchase the majority interest of partner K-Rock 1057 Inc.

"With these two radio stations, Rogers will have a strong presence in Kingston", said Paul Ski, Chief Executive Officer, Radio, Rogers Media Inc. "We look forward to serving the Kingston community and building on the legacy of K-Rock."

Rogers now operates 24 radio stations in Ontario including stations in Ottawa and Toronto.
