Nuclear Survey

Survey of Emerging Nuclear Energy States
Ray Froklage with the assistance of Justin Alger, Derek de Jong, Jonathan Miller and Alex Sales

Waterloo - CIGI's Nuclear Energy Futures Project is engaged in a three-year undertaking to examine the purported worldwide revival of nuclear energy and its implications for global governance. The Survey of Emerging Nuclear Energy States is a continually updated online publication that aims to shed light on the adoption of nuclear energy by new entrants in the purported nuclear revival. From an initial governmental declaration of interest in nuclear power to the eventual connection of a reactor to the grid, the Survey charts the trajectory of each emerging or aspiring nuclear country in its path to the development of civilian nuclear power. No other research project comprehensively analyzes the progress of aspiring nuclear states in this way.

CIGI's Nuclear Energy Futures Project is conducted in partnership with the Canadian Centre for Treaty Compliance at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University.
