CTV Solicits Support for Change
Kitchener - CTV is holding an Open House on Saturday May 23rd from 10 AM to 2 PM at our Kitchener Location, to bring attention to the structural problems plaguing the over the air Television Industry. As a CRTC regulated media outlet CTV is wanting support for a change to over the air business model.
"If you think having a local Television station is important to your community then I urge you to visit the web site that has been set up; savelocal.ctv.ca and sign the on line petition." say CTV Vice President Dennis Watson. He urges viewers to "don’t stop there, please send an email to the Prime Minister, Heritage Minister and your local MP. Your message can be as simple as 'don’t let local TV fail' or 'I am in favour of Cable and DTH companies paying TV stations for their programming'."
