MOOSE FACTORY - The Moose Cree First Nation have ratified an agreement with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) that resolves past impacts on the Moose Cree First Nation and establishes the foundation for a positive relationship between the Moose Cree First Nation and OPG. Moose Cree First Nation Chief Norm Hardisty Jr. believes that the Amisk-oo-Skow partnership is what the Treaty signatories envisioned when they agreed to share the land and resources with settler governments. "The strong yes vote by the Moose Cree means a greener energy profile for all Ontarians and great economic promise for our partner the Moose Cree and the entire Northeast Ontario Region," said the Honourable George Smitherman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.

John Murphy, OPG's Vice President of Hydroelectric said: "This agreement redresses issues of the past and provides the opportunity for establishing a future opportunity for a new commercial relationship with the Moose Cree First Nation and will add an additional 450 MW of renewable supply to Northern Ontario."
