Small business owners to discover E-business strategies

Kitchener – After selling out in March, the popular E-Biz Boot Camp program is being offered again in June by the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre. Relatively low start-up costs and ease of entry make Internet-based businesses an extremely attractive option for entrepreneurs looking to start a new business or rejuvenate an existing one.

Local entrepreneurs and small business owners have another opportunity to enroll in the four-part training workshop presented by the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre and Student Connections—an Industry Canada initiative that provides small and medium-sized business with e-commerce and Internet training.

Set for June 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 6pm - 9pm at Kitchener City Hall, the E-Biz Boot Camp is an interactive learning experience that addresses the fundamentals of doing business online. Workshop topics will include: web essentials and strategies to succeed, establishing an effective web presence, profiting from the web, and marketing on the Internet.

E-Biz Boot Camp is especially valuable for entrepreneurs who want to improve their technological know-how; have an existing e-business but are running into roadblocks; or for entrepreneurs who want to add an online component to an existing small business.

Consumers in Canada are expressing a growing demand for e-business. According to Statistics Canada, 8.4 million Canadians placed orders totaling $12.8 billion in 2007. The E-biz Boot Camp is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to gain the confidence and knowledge needed to meet this increasing demand and run a successful business on the Internet.
