2009 Annual Motorcycle Ride For Dad
1800 Motorcycles Expected To Help Raise Funds For Prostate Cancer
Awareness and Research - Come out and CHEER
OTTAWA - This Saturday, May 30th, the 2009 Motorcycle Ride
For Dad will be held in Ottawa. Over the past 10 years thousands of
motorcyclists have raised millions of dollars for prostate cancer research and
education.
A police-escorted parade of up to 1800 motorcycles will make its way from
Aviation Museum in the east, to the Leggett Drive in Kanata. There will be
temporary road closures along Rockliffe Parkway, Sussex, Wellington, Western
Parkway and Carling Ave.
Road closures will begin at approximately 8:45 am in the east and move
with the parade as it progresses across the city. These closures will be kept
to a minimum while safeguarding the safety of all participants.
Come view the parade - it's FREE and an amazing site. This year we're
inviting people to gather at NCC Parking Lot 6, on The Rockliffe Parkway
between Birch and Hemlock, in front of the RCMP stables. The parade should
pass between 8:50 and 9:00 am and will take approximately 45 minutes. Or view
the parade at Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre lot, on the east side at Carling.
The parade will enter Carling from the Western Parkway. It should arrive at
this location between 9:15 and 9:30. At both locations we will have FREE flags
and tattoos for kids.
