LOCAL STUDENTS ON TEAM ONTARIO ACHIEVE OUTSTANDING RESULTS AT NATIONAL SKILLS COMPETITION IN P.E.I.

KITCHENER – Sixty five students from across the province represented Ontario as they competed in various skilled trades and technology contests at the 15th Canadian Skills Competition held in Charlottetown. P.E.I. on May 20th – 23rd. Team Ontario took home 40 medals, including 18 Gold, 12 Silver and 10 Bronze of the 58 contests they were competing in. Team Ontario’s gold medal wins are up 65% over the 2008 Canadian Skills Competition.

Hydro One commits $250,000 to build an Interpretative Lookout above the Current River

TORONTO - Hydro One and the City of Thunder Bay signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of an Interpretive Lookout above the Current River and recreational trail links between Centennial Park and Boulevard Lake Park. Under the agreement, Hydro One will cover the capital costs of the construction, estimated at $250,000, with the City of Thunder Bay responsible for improving the access trails and future maintenance of the trails and lookout.
