Robert Half Canada recognized with Community Service Award
Canadian Employees Contribute More Than 7,500 Volunteer Hours to Nonprofit Organizations
TORONTO - Robert Half Canada has been recognized with the
2009 Community Service Award from the Association of Canadian Search,
Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS), the national voice of the
employment and staffing industry. The award recognizes organizations that make
an extraordinary commitment to, and have a genuine concern for, the community
at large by supporting charities, educational and other community groups.
Robert Half Canada contributed more than 7,500 hours of community service
as part of a global volunteer initiative -- "60,000 Hours for 60 Years of
Service" (60K60) campaign -- to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary in
2008. More than 200 community organizations were supported through employee
efforts, which included participation in charity runs, soap box derbies,
fundraising and coaching youth sporting events. Employees also shared
workplace and industry knowledge at more than 100 professional association
conferences, workshops and seminars.
"Investing in community and professional associations is of increased
importance in today's economy as many organizations are facing operational and
fundraising challenges," said Kathryn Bolt, president of Robert Half Canada.
"While giving back to the community is reward in itself, the morale- and
team-building shared amongst staff also became valuable attributes of the
program."
Robert Half Canada was recognized at the ACSESS annual conference in
Montreal on May 1, 2009.
