MTE and Waterloo Geoscience Merge to Expand Services
Kitchener - MTE Consultants Inc. (MTE) announced that it has merged with Waterloo Geoscience Consultants Ltd. (WGC). The merger will allow both firms to expand the services they provide to their clients across southwestern Ontario.
Greg Marks, President of MTE, emphasized the organizations’ similar corporate cultures as a significant factor to pursuing this business union. “Waterloo Geoscience and MTE are both relatively small, privately-owned organizations that are focused on providing exceptional service and innovative solutions that too often larger organizations cannot. Our clients will continue to benefit from our value-added approach and technical expertise, however, we will now be able to provide them with a wider and more advanced range of services.”
WGC, led by President Bill Clarke, specializes in hydrogeological investigations with experience in aggregate resources, groundwater contaminants, watershed studies and groundwater resource development. Based in Waterloo Region, the company incorporated in 1988 and currently employs six people.
MTE’s Water Resources team, which includes Vice-President, Peter Gray, P.Geo., and Water Resources Manager, Andrew Bingeman, C.E.T., is eager to work with the additional WGC staff members on current and future projects. WGC is relocating to MTE’s recently expanded office on Bingemans Centre Drive in Kitchener in the coming months.
MTE has been serving the Waterloo Region since 1985. The company’s 150 employees specialize in civil (land and site development), municipal, structural and environmental engineering services, including hydrogeology and building health sciences (mould and asbestos remediation). MTE also has a growing office in Burlington focused on serving the Burlington, Hamilton and Halton Regions.
