Contractors selling prices decreased 0.6% in April, compared with a 0.5% decline in March.

This resulted in a New Housing Price Index decreasing to 153.7 (1997=100)

CFOs Project Slight Hiring Increase in Third-Quarter

Business Services Industry Projected to See Greatest Hiring Increases

TORONTO - Employers are expected to be conservatively optimistic about adding accounting and finance professionals in the third quarter, according to the Robert Half International Financial Hiring Index. Twelve per cent of chief financial officers (CFOs) expect to hire full-time employees during the third quarter while 6 per cent anticipate personnel reductions. The net 6 per cent increase is up one point from the second-quarter forecast.
