Ontario women live longer but don't prosper

Low-income women at greatest disadvantage as they battle more chronic disease and disability compared to women and men in higher income groups

TORONTO - While Ontario women live longer than men, a majority are more likely to suffer from disability and chronic conditions, according to a new women's health study by St. Michael's Hospital researcher Dr. Arlene Bierman. What's more, low-income women have more chronic conditions, greater disability and a shorter life expectancy than women in high-income groups.

IMF Swings To Profit Amid Global Crisis.

"The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Monday it ended its latest fiscal year with a profit of $126 million, as the global economic crisis spurred higher lending. GUELPH - Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is assisting Canadian research nationally in the mission to find a cause of and cure for brain tumours with the announcement of its annual grants-in-aid program recipients. Doctor Nina Jones of Guelph, Ontario was awarded one of six grants from the organization for her work in determining the role of specific proteins on brain tumours on June 15th, 2009.
