Mercedes-Benz Canada reports best month ever, best quarter ever and best half year ever
TORONTO - Mercedes-Benz Canada reported that it has
shattered multiple all-time sales records by delivering a total of 2,883 units
in June. Not only does this represent the best combined month ever, it also
propels second quarter results to 7,922 units and year-to-date deliveries to
13,143 vehicles. These totals are significant milestones for the company as
they represent the best quarter in history for Mercedes-Benz Canada and the
best half year sales results ever.
In June, a total of 2,580 Mercedes-Benz vehicles were delivered to
customers, representing a 22.6% increase over June 2008 and the best month
ever for the Mercedes-Benz brand. smart posted its best volume month thus far
in 2009 with a total of 303 smart fortwos sold in June.
Strong B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, GLK-Class, M-Class, GL-Class and
R-Class model sales contributed to June's success. The C-Class celebrated the
best month ever in the model's history with 931 units retailed in June. The
GLK-Class also maintained the positive momentum it has been building since its
launch earlier this year.
With 977 units delivered, the luxury light truck side reported
considerable gains for the month. Year-to-date, the segment has grown 104.9%
with a total of 4,682 units retailed.
The diesel sales ratio was 57.6% for the month, while permanent all-wheel
drive 4MATIC(TM) units accounted for 77.9% of the overall passenger car and
light truck sales (excluding smart).
Pre-owned Mercedes-Benz sales also reported a 42% increase and their best
month ever with 860 vehicles delivered in June. For the first half of 2009,
Pre-owned sales are ahead 7.2% with a total of 3,895 units sold.

outstanding dealership network have worked tirelessly to maintain this
tremendous momentum, and these extraordinary individuals have been the key to
achieving these remarkable sales results. We enter the second-half of 2009
with an exceptionally strong product portfolio that has been further
strengthened this month with the launch of the stunning new 2010 E-Class
Coupe. The overall result provides an incredibly strong foundation and
positions us well for the second half of 2009."
