Strong B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, GLK-Class, M-Class, GL-Class and R-Class model sales contributed to June's success. The GLK-Class also maintained the positive momentum it has been building since its launch earlier this year.

With 977 units delivered, the luxury light truck side reported considerable gains for the month. Year-to-date, the segment has grown 104.9% with a total of 4,682 units retailed.

The diesel sales ratio was 57.6% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC(TM) units accounted for 77.9% of the overall passenger car and light truck sales (excluding smart).

Pre-owned Mercedes-Benz sales also reported a 42% increase and their best month ever with 860 vehicles delivered in June. For the first half of 2009, Pre-owned sales are ahead 7.2% with a total of 3,895 units sold. "I am extremely proud to look back at the first half of this record-breaking year. 2008 was our best year in history, and this year we've continued to shatter records each month and have now recorded our best first half ever at the mid-point of 2009," said Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. "Our extremely dedicated employees and outstanding dealership network have worked tirelessly to maintain this tremendous momentum, and these extraordinary individuals have been the key to achieving these remarkable sales results. We enter the second-half of 2009 with an exceptionally strong product portfolio that has been further strengthened this month with the launch of the stunning new 2010 E-Class Coupe. The overall result provides an incredibly strong foundation and positions us well for the second half of 2009."
