Waterloo Region Women Build
Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region Launches 2009 Women Build Event
Waterloo Region - Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region (HFHWR) extends an invitation to all members of the media to attend the launch of our 2009 From Sawdust to Sparkles Woman Build Event. This initial build day is the premier event launching HFHWR’s first Woman Build project since 2000. This Women Build Event is especially geared to encourage women to come out to the build site to take an active role in increasing Waterloo Region’s supply of decent, affordable housing. Together, women participants will help make our community stronger by transforming the sawdust of construction into a sparkling new home for a deserving family.
Representatives from our community’s political leadership will be present to launch the project and women in leadership roles in our Region will build for the full day.
Monday, July 6th, 2009, 7:30am formal kickoff of the Women Build, C-2 Unit, 170 Cherry Street, Kitchener

This build also launches our first use of an online sponsor-a-builder campaign, the Women Build-a-thon: www.helphabitatbuild.ca. HFHWR hopes that this new way to sponsor our build volunteers will help raise funds to cover the cost of purchasing and servicing the land used by our Women Build townhouse.
