New Industrial Research Chair

Waterloo and NSERC to announce new automotive research chair

WATERLOO – The University of Waterloo and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada will announce the creation of a new research chair to explore ways of designing better automobiles more quickly. John Mcphee, a professor of systems design engineering and executive director of the Waterloo Centre for Automotive Research (WatCAR), has been appointed to an industrial research chair supported by NSERC, Toyota and Maplesoft.

Attending will be Barbara Muir, director of research partnerships, NSERC; David Johnston, president of the University of Waterloo; John McPhee, NSERC/Toyota/Maplesoft Industrial Research Chair in Mathematics-Based Modelling and Design; as well as other dignitaries and guests for the announcement.
