Holly Sagues, Chief Strategist and Policy Officer, Florida Virtual School to Facilitate Desire2Learn and Elluminate Roundtable at NECC

Desire2Learn and Elluminate host roundtable on the economic benefits and viability of online learning.

Kitchener-Waterloo – Desire2Learn Incorporated (Desire2Learn), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions, will co-host a roundtable on The Economic Benefits of Online Learning with Desire2Learn Select ISV Partner Elluminate at the 30th Annual National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) in Washington, D.C., June 28 – July 1. This event will provide visibility into the Florida Virtual School’s evolved model and share insight into how to fund a K12 eLearning program.

Keynote speaker Holly Sagues, Chief Strategist and Policy Officer, Florida Virtual School will showcase in-depth information about how to fund online learning. The recent findings of the Florida Tax Watch report evaluating Florida Virtual School’s value to Florida taxpayers will be shared. Since 1998, Ms.Sagues has lived the mission and core values of Florida Virtual School. She provides data backed analysis and insights to her school’s decision makers regarding growth initiatives, strategies for achieving school goals, and tactical procedures for day-to-day operations.

This roundtable meeting will:
· provide an overview of current US models for funding virtual K12 educational programs
· share an in-depth review of Florida Virtual School funding structure and evolution
· discuss challenges facing all funding models
· articulate key data points for validation of funding requests and
· review of Total Cost of Ownership concept

A co-authored white paper will continue the dialogue about funding and the potential for eLearning and how to maximize funding opportunities.
