Desire2Learn Expands Successful XOXO Program at NECC 2009
Desire2Learn continues support of One Laptop Per Child Program through XOXO Initiative
Kitchener-Waterloo and Washington, D.C. Desire2Learn Incorporated will continue its 2009 XOXO campaign at NECC 2009, the largest annual technology conference for K-12 audiences, in Washington, DC, June 29th to July 1st, 2009.
The highly successful XOXO program was launched by Desire2Learn in the Fall of 2008 at EDUCAUSE in Orlando. In 2009, with the support of Desire2Learn Select ISV Partner, Elluminate, the program continues its success. The 2009 goal is to purchase 100 laptop computers to provide students access to eLearning in underprivileged areas of the world. One hundred XO laptops will open a world of opportunity for hundreds of students and families alike.
“Desire2Learn is excited to continue this philanthropic initiative,” said John McLeod, Director of Marketing, Desire2Learn. “With the support and participation of Elluminate at the NECC conference, we will continue to expand the numbers of children we assist through this important program. Attendees will be able to directly improve the educational experience of children simply by visiting both Desire2Learn and Elluminate booths.”
