2009 Auto Restructuring
The Canada Development Investment Corporation announces Canada's appointment to the Board of Chrysler Group LLC
OTTAWA - The Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDIC) yesterday announced the appointment of George F.J. Gosbee to the Board of Chrysler Group LLC. Mr. Gosbee is the founder of Tristone Capital Inc. and was appointed as a member of the Minister of Finance's Economic Advisory Council (EAC) last December.
He will continue to serve on the EAC as he assumes these new duties.
CDIC is entitled to designate one of the nine board members of Chrysler
Group LLC to exercise its rights and responsibilities as a shareholder.
CDIC holds, through a wholly owned subsidiary, Canada's 2-per-cent share
in Chrysler Group LLC. Canada's equity position is a result of its
participation, with the Government of Ontario and the U.S. Government, in
Chrysler Group LLC's restructuring.
CDIC is a federal Crown corporation established in 1982 with a mandate to
hold and manage in a commercial manner certain commercial interests of the
federal government.

George F.J. Gosbee

Tristone Capital Inc.
Since December 2008, George F.J. Gosbee has been a member of the Minister
of Finance's Economic Advisory Council, which was established to provide
advice on economic matters.
In 2000, Mr. Gosbee founded Tristone Capital Inc., a full-service
investment banking firm with a focus on the energy industry. Before founding
Tristone, he was Managing Director at Newcrest Capital Inc., a Canadian
national investment firm. Mr. Gosbee joined Newcrest after five years with the
energy investment firm of Peters & Co. Limited, where he was Managing Director
and served on the Executive Committee.
Mr. Gosbee is Vice Chairman of the Alberta Investment Management
Corporation, the $70-billion Government of Alberta pension fund manager. He is
a member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives and a board member of the
Alberta Economic Development Authority, Edge School and the Libin
Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta.
In 2009, Mr. Gosbee was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World
Economic Forum, one of only 7 Canadians recently awarded the honour. He was
also named by The Globe and Mail's Report on Business in 2004 as one of
Canada's Top 40 Under 40, and the Prairie Region Entrepreneur of the Year by
Ernst & Young in 2005.
Mr. Gosbee holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of
Calgary.
