The Canada Development Investment Corporation announces Canada's appointment to the Board of Chrysler Group LLC

OTTAWA - The Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDIC) yesterday announced the appointment of George F.J. Gosbee to the Board of Chrysler Group LLC. Mr. Gosbee is the founder of Tristone Capital Inc. and was appointed as a member of the Minister of Finance's Economic Advisory Council (EAC) last December.

He will continue to serve on the EAC as he assumes these new duties. CDIC is entitled to designate one of the nine board members of Chrysler Group LLC to exercise its rights and responsibilities as a shareholder.

CDIC holds, through a wholly owned subsidiary, Canada's 2-per-cent share in Chrysler Group LLC. Canada's equity position is a result of its participation, with the Government of Ontario and the U.S. Government, in Chrysler Group LLC's restructuring.

CDIC is a federal Crown corporation established in 1982 with a mandate to hold and manage in a commercial manner certain commercial interests of the federal government.
