Two AREA Companies Forge a Healthy Relationship
Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society. and Employer’s Edge partner for employee wellness
Huron-Perth County - Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society has partnered with Employer’s Edge to create a multi-faceted wellness program that will be designed based upon the expressed needs and desires of the employee base. The Executive Director, Tom Knight adds, “We are very excited to be working with Employer’s Edge. Both the Board of Directors and the agency are committed to the wellness of the staff.”
Through group interaction, personal wellness profiles, health coaching, and group wellness initiatives, Employer’s Edge and the wellness committee will determine which wellness programs will be best suited for Huron-Perth CAS employees at both sites Stratford and Goderich.
Employer’s Edge was founded in 2003 and uses a comprehensive approach to lifestyle management that is targeted to the specific needs of its clients. In addition to on-site health and wellness instruction, the company also provides nutritional, social, and stress management programs designed to improve the quality of life of its clientele.
“We are delighted to work with Employer’s Edge and are looking forward to designing a program that meets the needs of our employees”. Huron-Perth CAS Director of Human Resources, Joyce Birnstihl explained. “We believe the benefits of a healthy, happy workforce are important for the agency. We’re also committed to ensuring that the staff gets the most out of their lives once the work day is done.”
“It’s not just about living longer, or living healthier it’s about living better and we’re committed, as an agency, to helping our employees do just that.”
“We really believe in providing a multi-faceted approach to health management,” Employer’s Edge’s president and founder Garth Jansen explained. “It’s not enough to just implement the programs we believe in following up, supporting the employees, and helping them reach their lifestyle management goals, whether that’s to get healthier, eat better, exercise more, or learn how to reduce stress.”
The program, for which participation is completely voluntary for the employees, launched in June 2009 with staff information sessions, completion of a needs and interests assessment, and one-on-one health coaching.. From there Employer’s Edge will determine what programs will be best for the company and work with Huron-Perth CAS and the wellness committee to implement those changes.
