Community Support Continues to Grow
Guelph The Guelph Community Foundation recently announced it’s spring grants. Over $127,000 was disbursed out to charitable organizations this spring, bringing The Foundation to over $1.3 million in grants to community organizations since its inception in 2000.
“Through the generosity of many donors, we can continue to grow our granting program to support our charitable sector,” stated Andrea Olson, Executive Director of The Foundation, “this year, we assisted a number of donors make a special ‘flow-through’ gift to charities to help offset some of the economic impact felt by charitable organizations”. Grants were made to programs and services for health & wellness, children & youth, education, social services, arts & culture and the environment. “We have not completed our granting for the year”, said Olson, “The Foundation will be granting up to $50,000 more in grants this fall as we are now reviewing grant applications in response to our Building Vital Communities program that is focused on poverty related initiatives “.
With current assets over $6.4 million, The Guelph Community Foundation manages over 90 funds that support and enhance the quality of life in our community.
