ACCKWA Opens Satellite Office in Cambridge
Cambridge - ACCKWA (AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo & Area) will be celebrating the opening of a satellite office that will provide outreach (people living at risk for HIV) and support services (people living with HIV) on Tuesday August 25th. The office is located on the 2nd floor of the Cambridge Self Help Food Bank (CSHFB) at 54 Ainslie St. S in Cambridge (Galt).
The partnership with CSHFB is the result of concerns regarding accessibility to HIV and Harm Reduction services for the Cambridge community. This location will allow individuals greater accessibility to these services and will provide support, information, safer disposal services and risk supplies in the lives of those affected and infected with the HIV virus as well as reduce the risk of the potential transmission of HIV and Hepatitis C among high risk individuals and the community of Cambridge as a whole.
The satellite office hours will be as follows:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays:
SafePoint (needle exchange) and Street Outreach
9:00-11:30 am - Trinity Anglican Church and surrounding streets
12:00-4:30 pm - 54 Ainslie Street S
Fridays: Support Services: 9:00-4:30 at 54 Ainslie Street S
Community Outreach Coordinator Leesa Stephenson 519-570-3687 x306
Support Coordinator Julie Henshaw 519-570-3687 x310
