Securit | Shred-it Names Vincent R. De Palma to Serve as President and Chief Executive Officer
OAKVILLE - Securit, Shred-it, announced that its board of directors has named Vincent R. De Palma to serve as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer. Securit | Shred-it has been operating under interim leadership since the death of the company's founder, Greg Brophy, in September 2007.
De Palma, 52, has served as President, Pitney Bowes Management Services,
since June 2005. Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, De Palma had been a Corporate
Officer and President of ADP Benefit Services at Automatic Data Processing
(ADP). He has also held senior management positions at Petroleum Heat & Power
Company and McKinsey & Company. De Palma received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College and his Masters of
Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School of Business at the
University of Pennsylvania.
"The board of directors selected De Palma based on his strong track
record leading service-based organizations, as well as his impressive
executive and personal qualities," said David Samuel, Securit | Shred-it's
Chairman of the Board. "Our search for a permanent leader to ensure Securit |
Shred-it's continued success has been thorough," said Samuel. "A screening
team, including Tracey Brophy, wife of the late Greg Brophy, interviewed
numerous candidates for the position. Vincent's background and cultural fit
with the organization made him an ideal choice for the leadership role."
"Securit | Shred-it is a leader in information security, with over 20
years of success," said De Palma. "I'm thrilled to join the company and am
honoured to have the opportunity to build upon the great foundation that Greg
Brophy established. I'm excited for the future of this company and am looking
forward to helping to bring the company even greater success."
