Local ISO Registrar Continues to Grow
Guelph - In the past twelve months, International Certification has purchased the Canadian assets of the TUV SUD Registration practice and launched some of the most innovative programs and services in the industry.
Michael Delisle announced that Dr. Gary Cort joined ICS as a Senior Associate. Dr. Cort, Principal at the Exxeos Group, has over thirty years of experience transforming organizations spanning the aerospace, communications, biomedical, finance, transportation, manufacturing and service sectors. Driving operational effectiveness through a formal blended approach combining best practices, organization dynamics, and metrics, Gary has held leadership positions with NASA, the US Department of Energy, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he also served as Quality Officer.
Prior to joining Research In Motion as Vice-President, Software Quality, Gary co-led the world-wide CMMI deployment effort for Intel Corporation. Gary is a former Adjunct Professor of Software Engineering at the University of New Mexico and currently serves on various standards and advisory boards.
Gary has worked with many international quality models and standards and has drawn extensively on ISO 9001, ISO 14000, Six Sigma, CMMI, and Malcolm Baldrige to create harmonized operational excellence solutions. He is the developer of the revolutionary PEAK measure of process capability and the Xform operational effectiveness model. He holds various patents in the statistical testing domain.
Gary is currently Chairman of ISO Technical Committee 176: Quality Management and Quality Assurance, the international committee responsible for the evolution of the ISO 9000 family of standards.
Gary holds a Ph.D. degree in Physics from Texas A&M University. He is a senior member of the American Society for Quality and an ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer. He has enjoyed a long and productive relationship with the Software Engineering Institute and is a certified SCAMPI High-Maturity Lead Appraiser and CMMI Instructor as well as one of the authors of the SCAMPI B&C appraisal methods.
Andrew Milivojevich also Join ICS and is an authority in the application of statistical methods and Six Sigma to improve business performance. He has over 20 years of extensive experience and has provided leadership, direction, vision, and fostered an environment of continuous improvement for a number of organizations such as Magna International, The Woodbridge Group, Juran Institute, Progressive Moulded Products, Irving Corporation, Meridian Technologies, Copperweld, Dofasco, NRI, Brose, Bosch, Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association, Society for Professional Engineers, Human Resources Association of Ontario, and the Canada Revenue Agency.
He has applied statistical and Six Sigma methods to Research, Development, Operations, and Service. Andrew is the first ASQ certified Black Belt in Canada and a frequent speaker on Six Sigma and statistical methods to improve business performance. He has lectured, authored, and been quoted in several papers with The American Society for Quality, The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Alliance for the Polyurethane Industry (API). Andrew is a Professional Engineer, senior member of the American Society for Quality (A.S.Q.).
He maintains certification with A.S.Q. as a Quality Engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt and provides instruction to the Toronto A.S.Q. membership in statistical methods, Quality Engineering and Six Sigma respectively. Andrew is a member of the Quality and Applied Statistics Advisory Council for the College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology. He is also a Science Consultant to Revenue Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development program. Andrew received degree Mechanical engineering from Ryerson Polytechnic University, Canada, and a Masters Degree in Mathematical Statistics from the College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology, USA.
ICS Moving to Larger Premises
On September 1, 2009, ICS moved to larger premises in Guelph, Ontario. “We have doubled our size ad added more training rooms in the new location” states Carolyn Macdonald, VP of Training for ICS. The new office will be located at 291 Woodlawn Road, close to the corners of the Hanlon Expressway and Highway 7 in Guelph.
