City of Waterloo hosts eco-energy information seminar
Waterloo - Homeowners who are interested in learning more about how to make their homes more energy efficient are encouraged to attend an eco-energy information seminar on Sept. 8.
Hosted by the City of Waterloo's 55+ Advisory Board, the event will be held at the Wing 404 Rotary Adult Centre, at 510 Dutton Dr., from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
“This seminar is the place to go to find out everything you ever wanted to know about making your home more energy efficient,” said Chris Barker, who manages the city’s adult programs and facilities.
The seminar will feature information on federal government grants, Ontario Power Authority rebates, residential energy efficiency assessments, Union Gas rebates and Energy Star products.
“Plus, there will be experts in the eco-energy field on hand to answer everyone’s technical questions,” Barker said.
Experts will include Ron Bolender, a building envelope specialist from Patron Services, Dianne MacDonald, who does eco-energy evaluations for the ENERGuY, and Peter McCarthy, an Energy Star product advisor with Solution One. There will also be energy savings kits from Union Gas.
Admission is $2 per person.
