Brick Brewing announces performance improvements in distribution and logistics
New distribution deal to outsource TBS deliveries and contribute to the
$2 million cost savings commitment for fiscal 2010
WATERLOO - Brick Brewing Company announced
today that it is expanding its current partnership with Ryder and outsourcing
its distribution to The Beer Store. The company has also changed its Direct
Delivery service to Licensee and the LCBO which is now be managed directly
through The Beer Store. The new distribution and logistics measures are part
of Brick Brewing Company's plan to deliver $2-million in cost savings for
fiscal 2010.
"By enhancing our distribution and streamlining our operating model,
Brick Brewing is well-positioned to grow in an increasingly competitive
Canadian beer industry," said George Croft President and CEO of Brick Brewing
Co Limited. "These cost cutting measures are part of our larger profitability
strategy, which optimizes Brick Brewing's product mix and partners our company
with major retailers to become the preferred supplier wherever possible."
"Re-structuring our logistics and distribution model has improved our
route to market and allows the right Brick Brewing products to reach the right
outlets more efficiently" said Russell Tabata Chief Technical Officer Brick
Brewing Co Limited. "In addition to these improvements, Brick has moved from
manual ordering to electronic ordering with our retail partners, making the
whole business system even more effective," added Tabata.
