Moya Greene Reappointed as President and CEO, Canada Post

OTTAWA - Marc Courtois, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is pleased to confirm Moya Greene's reappointment as President and Chief Executive Officer until May 2012, as announced yesterday by Canada's Transport Minister, John Baird and Rob Merrifield, Minister of State (Transport).

"Significant business results have been achieved since Moya's appointment as President and CEO in May 2005," Mr. Courtois noted. "Her reappointment and the two-year extension to her original five-year mandate ensures that the crucial progress that has been made toward Postal Transformation and the Modern Post will continue. On behalf of my fellow board members, we are delighted that the Government of Canada has demonstrated in this way that it shares our confidence in the direction and leadership that Moya has brought to Canada Post. Some of the most specific achievements include the modernization plan, which will ensure continued excellent service for Canadians and Canadian businesses, at the same time as also ensuring a strong and financially sustainable company."

Prior to joining Canada Post, Ms. Greene held progressively senior roles in both the public and private sectors. She has been an officer at three of Canada's largest multinational companies, first in banking and financial services, where she held the positions of Managing Director, Infrastructure Finance at TD Securities Inc., and Senior Vice President, Retail Products at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce; and most recently as Senior Vice President, Operational Effectiveness at Bombardier Inc. She has also a strong public sector background, having spent the first 17 years of her career in Ottawa. During this period, Ms. Greene assumed progressively senior roles in seven different Ministries of the federal public service.

"I am grateful to both the government and our board for their confidence, and for the continuing opportunity to lead this great company," said Ms. Greene. "I am particularly delighted because I can further enjoy working alongside the magnificent men and women of Canada Post. Our people are the heart and soul of this company, as they prove every working day with their tremendous efforts."

The Canada Post Corporation is a Crown corporation and one of the largest employers in Canada. Each working day, it delivers approximately 45 million pieces of mail to more than 15 million addresses in Canada.
