Outstanding PricewaterhouseCoopers employees awarded with inaugural CEO Award for Southwest Ontario

Awards given to three distinctive individuals and client teams

Toronto — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Canada is proud to announce the recipients of the firm’s inaugural 2009 CEO Award for Southwest Ontario. The CEO Award is given out in three categories: People, Client and Team, recognizing two individuals and one team that stand out and have achieved outstanding results for PwC and its clients.

This year’s Southwest Ontario CEO Award winners include:

* Linda Korgemets, Winner – People Category: In addition to taking on responsibilities as a senior manager in PwC’s Tax Services group and as the Foundation Champion Leader for the PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation, Linda has consistently offered to help manage staff workloads, promoting work/life flexibility and enabling them to spend more time with their families.

* Pamela Florence, Winner – Client Category: An associate in PwC’s Advisory Services practice, Pamela relocated to a client site for several months to work on two receivership/bankruptcy engagements as part of PwC’s Corporate Advisory & Restructuring practice, all while keeping her ongoing commitment to the London and Area Food Bank.

* PwC Windsor Integrated Service Solutions (ISS) team of Sandra Grado, Cindy Junck, Elaine Macintyre, Kellie McCrindle and Amanda Pearce, Winner – Team Category: The PwC Windsor ISS team revisited their processes to develop a more streamlined approach to helping small- to medium-size businesses complete their annual filings—from financial statements to corporate tax returns.

Throughout the year, staff and partners in PwC’s London, Waterloo and Windsor offices are encouraged to submit nominations for the CEO award in each of the three categories. This year’s Southwest Ontario award recipients were selected from a list of nominees by a regional nomination committee and recognized during a local celebration event.

“The CEO Award recognizes and rewards our PwC individuals and teams who go that extra mile to create business impact and live our firm values of leadership, excellence and teamwork,” says Glen Dyrda, PwC Southwest Ontario Managing Partner. “Particularly in this challenging economy, we believe it’s important to take the time to recognize those who achieve great results, celebrate their successes and thank our staff for a job well done. We are proud to honour this exceptional group of PwC people who are truly role models for our firm.”

Recipients of the local office CEO Awards are also eligible to receive the National CEO Award, which honours two PwC Canada staff members and one team who go above and beyond to provide a distinctive experience to PwC’s people and clients. National winners will be announced in a special ceremony on September 14, 2009 and will receive a monetary prize of up to CDN$25,000.
