Waterloo - The investments come from the Investment Accelerator Fund, part of Ontario’s Innovation Agenda, a $3.2-billion strategy to make Ontario one of the best places in the world to turn new knowledge and new ideas into new businesses and jobs.

The following companies in Waterloo have received IAF funding:

* Aeryon Labs Inc. – Aeryon designs and manufactures small unmanned aerial vehicle systems, which can be used for aerial photography, surveillance, environment monitoring, and land surveying.

* Energent Inc. – Energent’s toolkit gives clients the real-time information they need to predict and manage their energy consumption. In turn, it allows utilities to meet regulatory requirements and make the most of government incentives by helping their customers reduce their energy consumption.

* Strike Face Technology Inc. – Strike Face Technology develops, markets and manufactures next-generation lightweight body armour plates.

Together, these companies expect to create close to 100 jobs over the next three years.
