Biorem awarded $3.4M biofiltration project

GUELPH - BIOREM Inc. announced today that it has been awarded an advanced biofiltration project valued at $3.4 million. Under the terms of the agreement, Biorem will supply a biofiltration system ("the System") to remove volatile organic compounds ("VOC") and odorous emissions at a municipal organics processing facility located in Southern Ontario. The system is expected to treat approximately 155,000 cubic meters of complex contaminated air sources per hour and has been specifically designed to bring emissions at the processing facility to a level that will meet stringent odor guidelines set out by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. These guidelines ensure that only one odor unit per cubic meter of air is at the property boundary.

"Understanding how odor and VOC emissions result from organic waste processing is a key element in developing solutions such as the one in Southern Ontario. Advanced research and product development have enabled Biorem to treat an array of industrial emissions particularly those in very sensitive, high profile applications," said Peter Bruijns, President and CEO. "Developing air emission control systems for facilities utilizing sustainable processes has created an important source of revenue for Biorem."
