Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 4-show run at Centre In The Square!!

KITCHENER-WATERLOO – A crash of drums! A flash of light! And Centre In The Square explodes with the Andrew Lloyd Webber spectacular, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This international audience hit plays for one weekend only at the Centre In The Square from November 19th to 21st.

Noted for its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s triumphant collaboration Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been delighting audiences worldwide for over 40 years. A rollicking musical retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colours, this rousing rendition features a Pharoah who sings rock n’ roll, a boy band (Joseph’s 11 brothers) who sing calypso, angels who sing country, and a narrator who belts as if she just stepped out of American Idol.

Featuring a cast of over 80 local singers, dancers and musicians, dazzling scenery and lights, and over 100 colourful costumes including Joseph’s famous technicolor coat, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical event not to be missed.

At the centre of the spectacle is Lance Green in the title role of Joseph. Audiences will recognize Green from his leading role as Sky in the Toronto production of Mamma Mia!

Professional director Robert More expertly weaves the creative elements together. More is currently the Artistic Director of Victoria Playhouse Petrolia, one of Ontario’s most successful summer theatres. Rounding out the impressive creative team are Music Director Emeritus Fen Watkin, Music Director Michael Brown, Choreographer Kim Kaye, Set Designer J.C. Olivier, Lighting Designer Sean Hooper, Properties Designer Ann Mackenzie Martino, Vocal Coach Amanda Brunk and Stage Manager Judy Allred.

“In these challenging economic times, this light-hearted, fun, and entertaining musical is a terrific night out with the whole family,” says More. “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is an elating piece of family theatre – it’s also one of the best musicals ever written!”

With a memorable score including “Close Ever Door”, “Go, Go, Go Joseph” and the legendary “Any Dream Will Do,” Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser, as its record-breaking Broadway run, and countless productions around the world each year attest. With its upbeat ending, a bright tuneful score, a colorful and bigger than life cast of characters and a lovable hero, it's no wonder this heart-warming show has become an international sensation.

Winner of countless awards, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been seen by millions across the world on the stage.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat plays four shows only: Thursday, November 19th at 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets range from $32 – 47.
