Partnership Announcment
Maplesoft & Perimeter Institute Partner on Masters Program
Waterloo - Maplesoft and Perimeter Institute have announced a significant partnership that will have impact not just for the region of Kitchener-Waterloo, but also on scientists and researchers around the world. This initiative echos Maplesoft’s continued support of higher education and high quality research in institutions across the globe.
The PSI Program
Sponsorship of Masters’ students from PI’s Perimeter Scholars International (PSI) Program, starting on September 23rd 2009
It's the first year that the Perimeter Institute has offered the PSI Program. Twenty eight students from around the world are participating in this Masters level program focused on Theoretical Physics offered by the Perimeter Institute.
Maplesoft will sponsor the PSI Program during its first year, with the potential to sponsor the program in future years. As a sponsor of the PSI Program, Maplesoft will provide permanent copies of Maple 13 and other resources to each of the students in the program. All products will be provided to the PSI students during a Welcome BBQ to be held at Maplesoft on September 23. In addition, Maplesoft will provide training to the PSI students during the 10 month program period.
In partnership with the Perimeter Institute, Maplesoft will be sponsor the Quantum to Cosmos festival (Q2C) taking place this October. Running for 10 days, the festival will take a global audience from the world of subatomic particles to the outer frontiers of the universe. The festival's program features more than 50 events - including panel discussions, keynote presentations, special screenings and recorded sessions with Honorary Festival President, Professor Stephen Hawking. Q2C will take place in Waterloo but will stream events live and on demand, offering virtual interaction with exhibits, and providing special opportunities for students and teachers.
