LBTG Business Leader Event

Out on Bay Street promotes diversity in Canada's business community
By Ken McGuffin

Toronto - The annual Out on Bay Street conference returns to Toronto for its third time bringing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LBTG) business leaders of tomorrow together with corporate Canada.

The conference provides a venue for inclusive firms to meet with and talk to university students in business, economics, law, engineering, and related fields that are looking for welcoming organizations in which to build their careers.

Named after Toronto's Bay Street, the symbolic centre of business in Canada, the conference features educational workshops on a variety of career-oriented LGBT topics including mentorship, legal issues, and diversity, as well as a career fair, and networking opportunities. The event will be held on September 25 and 26 at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Toronto.

"The conference allows participants to expand and strengthen their personal and professional networks and gives sponsors an opportunity to promote awareness of their socially responsible practices towards the LBTG community," say conference co-chairs Michael Mirpuri and Daniel Oliveira.

One of Canada's leading qualitative public affairs researchers, Jaime Watt, Chair and Senior Partner of Navigator, will be the keynote speaker at the conference.

TD Bank Financial Group is the title sponsor of the event with nineteen additional sponsors from the worlds of law, media, marketing and finance providing support.

The conference is organized by a team of MBA and law students, undergrad business students, and recent graduates from universities in the Toronto area.

Complete conference details, including registration details for students, are online at www.outonbayst.org.
