M&M Meat Shops National Family Dinner Night Unites Canadians and Raises $41,182 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada

TORONTO - This past Thursday, September 17, thousands of families from coast-to-coast enjoyed a meal together at the dinner table to celebrate what really matters most - quality time with family and friends - and helped raise a phenomenal $41,182 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) in support of M&M Meat Shops fifth annual National Family Dinner Night.

The community-based initiative also generated overwhelming support from dignitaries across the country, including Governor General Michaëlle Jean, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mayors from coast-to-coast.

"The outstanding support of community leaders and the thousands of dollars raised for CCFC is an indication that Canadians still believe this tradition is sacred and meaningful," says Mac Voisin, Founder of M&M Meat Shops. "Even though our busy lives may not permit us to sit down for a family dinner every night, an event like National Family Dinner Night reminds us to free ourselves from all distractions, electronic or otherwise, so we can enjoy the undivided attention of those at the dinner table."

To participate in National Family Dinner Night, Canadians were asked to register their family dinner online at www.nationalfamilydinnernight.com. For every registration, M&M Meat Shops donated $1 to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
