Guelph - The Guelph & District Human Resources Professionals Association (GDHRPA) is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Employer of Distinction Award which recognizes two local companies for being outstanding employers who shape organizational excellence and raise awareness of the human resources profession through their organization's success.

The GDHRPA is pleased to recognize Global Tox as its 2009 Employer of Distinction in the small business category, under 200 employees and the City of Guelph as its 2009 Employer of Distinction in the large business category, over 200 employees. Both organizations are commended for developing and implementing successful approaches to promoting and motivating positive human resources best practices within their workplaces.

The awards were presented at the GDHRPA's annual CEO luncheon held at the Victoria Park East Golf Club in Guelph on January 22, 2009. Each company received an award to display at their workplace, as well as a complimentary one year membership to the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) and the right to promote themselves as Employers of Distinction for the year 2009.

The Guelph & District Human Resources Professionals Association was established in 1953 to promote employee/employer relations within the Guelph community and surrounding areas. Its purpose is to educate Human Resources Professionals by providing forums for communication and the exchange of information relating to Human Resources Management and Best Practices.
