RE: Ontario Paves The Way For Electric Car

I don't believe it. Ontario has the worst restrictions on electric cars
of any province. The premier is just posturing on this one!

Even if you have an electric car in Ontario, and the gov has their
recharging stations, you're not allowed to drive it on the public roads.

Delighted to read our governments are pursuing this technology.
Hopefully their enthusiasm is genuine and sustained.

But, Surely if Ontario/Canada are serious about developing Electric Cars, it is appropriate to invest in the advancement of Canadian technology such as that which has been advanced at Zenn, Ballard Power (Burnaby) , Arise Technologies (Waterloo) and other similar companies located in Ontario and elsewhere across the country..

Over the past number of years we have been clearly presented with numerous examples of what happens when too much hope and investment is made in U.S. companies.

The financial free fall of the U.S. "Big 3" has cost Canadian taxpayers dearly and it appears the tap is still running.

Unfortunately our unions have worsened the problems but that doesn't alter the fact we should be directing government resources to domestic companies as much as possible.

Yes, Better Place and their technology should be welcomed if they are leading in this field, as consultants or in some form of joint venture with our own industry leaders. http://www.zenncars.com/

Canadian/Ontario Taxpayers should at least be getting a shot at creating Canadian Jobs with Canadian Technology.

Sincerely;
Jim Howard, 20 Grandy Lane, Cambridge, ON, N1R 8K2

Not sure why the Ontario Government is supporting an American Manufacturer when Canada has its own electric vehicle that needs support.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but maybe there is more to the story.

Thanks
