KITCHENER – Celebrate Thanksgiving! as a family with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony (KWS) and the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery (KW|AG). The KWS Family Concert series includes concerts and activities for children and their parents/caregivers to enjoy together, and is a wonderful way to introduce children (ages 5 and older) to the world of symphonic music and art. Thanksgiving!, the first concert of the KWS family series, is conducted by John Morris Russel and takes place on Saturday, October 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Centre In The Square with pre-concert art activities beginning at 1:15 p.m.

Pre-registered concert goers are invited to drop in to the Kitchener- Waterloo Art Gallery between 1:15 and 2:30 p.m. for some free, pre-concert fun. Create a collage finger puppet to bring along to the Thanksgiving! concert and dance with it to Turkey in the Straw. Draw your favourite festive meal and go on a Gallery scavenger hunt following the clues on an art maze. Admission to the Gallery’s Building Berlin, Janice Kerbel and Being Magnified exhibitions is free. Additional activities in the Centre In The Square (CITS) lobby include instrument demonstrations, face painting and more.
