Kitchener-Waterloo – Sing your way to the top of the charts at this year’s Oktoberfest Idol event, sponsored by Covarity! The search for the next Oktoberfest Idol gets underway at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 11 at The Registry Theatre in Kitchener.

In a format that models the popular reality television series, contestants try to wow our celebrity judges and the audience with their personal rendition of their favourite tune. The activities begin with Oktoberfest Junior Idol, which offers a chance to shine for younger talent aged 8 to 13 years.

Directly following is the general competition for contestants 14 years of age or older. All contestants must come prepared with a CD. The winner will receive 20-hours of recording time at Studio A. Entry forms and contest details are available online at www.oktoberfest.ca. Contestants must register in person the day of the competition.

Great prizes are awarded to the winners of each level of competition, including the honour of riding in the Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade on Monday, October 12.
