University of Waterloo groundbreaking ceremony
Waterloo - The University of Waterloo is breaking new ground today for the faculty of mathematics's latest expansion project - Mathematics 3.
The four-storey Mathematics 3 building will house the University of Waterloo's department of statistics and actuarial science. As a result, the new facility will enable expansion for all academic units within the faculty of mathematics: applied mathematics, combinatorics and optimization, computer science, pure mathematics, and statistics and actuarial science.
Funding for the project is being provided through the federal Knowledge Infrastructure Program - an initiative to renew the infrastructure at colleges and universities - the 2009 Ontario budget and the university itself.
