COM DEV Named One Of Waterloo Area's Top Employers For 2010

CAMBRIDGE - COM DEV International Ltd. today announced that it has been named one of the top 15 employers in the Waterloo area for 2010. The designation recognizes employers that lead their industries in providing exceptional places to work by offering the most progressive and forward-thinking programs in such areas as physical workplace, work atmosphere, training and skills development, performance management, benefits, and community involvement.

John Keating, CEO of COM DEV International, commented on the award: "We are pleased to receive this recognition. Our staff work very hard to meet the exceptionally high quality standards required to design and manufacture space hardware. We strive to provide a workplace that enables them to excel."

In selecting COM DEV, Mediacorp Canada referenced Company policies including maternity leave top-up benefits, matching RSP plan contributions, subsidized tuition, employee referral bonuses, and a share purchase plan.

Naveen Rakkar, COM DEV's Director of Human Resources, also commented: "COM DEV has a unique employee value proposition that goes beyond the basic elements of the employment relationship which include salary and benefits. Our employees recognize that they are part of something big, that we are all here to do more than produce the world's best space products, we're here to make the world a better place. As a result, there exist deeply embedded cultural values of passion, caring and community involvement."

This year COM DEV celebrates the 30th anniversary of its 1979 relocation to Cambridge. During that time the Company's staff count at its head office facility has grown from 43 to over 1,000 employees. The Company recently purchased another building in Cambridge to serve as the home of its microsatellite manufacturing business and its exactEarth subsidiary.
