MTE Announces Merger with McNeil Surveying

Kitchener - MTE Consultants Inc. (MTE) is pleased to announce that it has acquired McNeil Surveying Ltd. (McNeil) of Stratford. McNeil is a land surveying company offering Ontario Land Survey (OLS) services throughout southwestern Ontario.

“One of the ways we are seeking to grow our organization is through the expansion of our services lines,” said MTE President Greg Marks. “McNeil adds a service we did not offer previously. This enhances our value to our clients by creating more opportunities to work with them on their projects.”

Under the arrangement McNeil will operate as a subsidiary of MTE, retaining its OLS control and its company name. This new group has the ability to process legal severances, boundary retracements, surveyors' property reports, easements, and any type of private or Crown land registry reporting work.

These new services will complement the ones already performed by MTE’s Geomatics Division, which includes engineering topographical surveys, construction surveying and deformation monitoring.

Prior to the acquisition, McNeil was owned by Julie and Trevor McNeil. The couple purchased the business in 2003 from Trevor’s parents Glenice and Don McNeil, who started the company in 1979. Trevor will continue to have an active role as Manager of McNeil Surveying Ltd.

MTE has been serving southwestern Ontario since 1985. The company’s more than 190 employees provide services in civil (land and site development), municipal, structural and environmental engineering. The company’s environmental service lines also include hydrogeology; mould and asbestos remediation; toxicology; and product testing and registration. MTE has offices in Kitchener, Burlington, Guelph and Stratford.
