Queen's solar technology places Ontario company among 'Emerging Cleantech Leaders"
TORONTO/KINGSTON - EnerWorks Inc., a Dorchester, Ontario company founded on solar-thermal technology developed at Queen’s University by Dr. Stephen Harrison, has been named among the Next 10 Emerging Cleantech Leaders by Corporate Knights, an independent Canadian-based media company focused on promoting and reinforcing sustainable development in Canada.
The announcement was made at the Toronto Stock Exchange’s market opening on Friday, Oct. 23 with the CEOs of the recognized companies on hand to open the TSX.
A leading North American provider of solar thermal technologies, EnerWorks develops and manufactures solar hot water heating and cooling systems that are in use across North America and in the Caribbean.
“The elegance and effectiveness of this company’s innovative technologies in helping homeowners conserve energy and reduce their carbon footprint continues to be recognized, and we share in EnerWorks’ well-earned sense of accomplishment,” says John Molloy, President and CEO of Queen’s University’s PARTEQ Innovations, which licensed the founding technology to EnerWorks. “This is an excellent example of how innovations developed out of basic university research can make a substantive and positive impact on the lives of Canadians.”
