The Briars Wins Award Again For Excellence In Ontario Wine
VQA Award Of Excellence 2nd In A Row For The Briars Resort
Jackson’s Point - With over 60% of the current wine list at The Briars made up of some of the finest wines available in Ontario, the famed resort has again been honoured from the Wine Council of Ontario.
For the second year running the Resort has received The 2009 Vintner’s Quality Alliance Restaurant Award of Excellence from the Wine Council of Ontario, in recognition of exceptional VQA wine and culinary experience.
Naturally a fine Ontario wine is best paired with a meal that puts the emphasis on local ingredients. Executive Chef Trevor Ledlie and his team often have to look no further than the estate’s own gardens for the freshest possible ingredients, and a quick look at the Briars website, reveals a menu and wine list in line with this philosophy.
The Briars Resort can easily cater to large events such as family or class reunions, anniversary parties and company socials with a winning combination of facilities, accommodations, and dining. The historic buildings, full-service spa and other comforts become your personal haven of relaxation, warmth and joy.
The peaceful Lake Simcoe shoreline is the ideal setting for seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Just an hour’s drive north of Toronto, this premier Ontario destination has once again been recognized by the Wine Council of Ontario.
“The Briars has a 160-year tradition of supporting local vinters and farmers, and so we are especially proud to receive the VQA award two years in a row.” Sheila Maxwell, Briars Director of Food and Beverage.
