Consumer confidence continues gains in week: report
NEW YORK (Reuters) - ABC News said on Tuesday that its weekly gauge of U.S. consumer confidence rose for the second straight week, edging up from a recent three-month low.
The ABC Consumer Comfort Index rose to -46 in the week ended November 8 from a -49 the prior week.
It was the biggest rise in the index for two consecutive weeks since April, coming off a three-month low hit two weeks ago.
The index first hit a record low of -54 in the week to December 1, 2008, and again in the week to January 25, 2009. It has not been on positive ground since March 2007.
The ABC News consumer confidence survey was based on a sample of about 1,000 interviews conducted in the four weeks ending November 8 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
