John Baker Named Intrepid Entrepreneur in Waterloo Region
Baker inducted into Hall of Fame with select Waterloo Region entrepreneurs
Kitchener-Waterloo Desire2Learn is pleased to announce that founder, president and CEO, John Baker has been named the 2009 Intrepid Entrepreneur for Waterloo Region.
The Intrepid Award recognizes an entrepreneur who is already a strong leader and who has great promise for future contribution to Waterloo Region and beyond.
"John Baker was unanimously selected as the 2009 Intrepid Award winner by our blue-ribbon panel for the Waterloo Region Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. The panel recognized John as a fearless entrepreneur who already stands out among his peers for capturing opportunities and overcoming challenges, and for making a positive impact on Waterloo Region's entrepreneurial community," said Iain Klugman, President and CEO, Communitech.
Baker received the award November 17 at The Waterloo Region Entrepreneur Hall of Fame Awards Gala hosted by Communitech. The sold out event, held at Bingeman's Conference Centre, saw more than 300 attendees recognize the business leaders who were selected by the judging panel. The Awards Gala was held during Entrepreneur Week, the largest celebration of entrepreneurial spirit in North America.
