TORONTO RESTAURATEURS PETER OLIVER AND MICHAEL BONACINI OPEN OLIVER & BONACINI CAFÉ GRILL IN WATERLOO
Waterloo - Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants, the company behind Toronto eateries Canoe, Jump, Auberge du Pommier and Biff’s Bistro, is opening Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill in Conestoga Mall this Friday, November 27th.
As part of Conestoga Mall’s recent renovations, Oliver & Bonacini will bring the first full-service dining
restaurant to the shopping centre. This is the company’s fourth Café Grill opening, with locations currently
in Toronto, Blue Mountain and Oakville. “We’re very excited to be opening finally in Waterloo. It’s a vital,
growing community with so much opportunity. This has been a long time in the making, but we are
thrilled to be here,” said company co-owner Peter Oliver. Oliver and his business partner, chef Michael
Bonacini, had been searching the Waterloo area for a period of time before negotiating the Conestoga Mall
location. Oliver & Bonacini’s reputation for high quality food, inspired service and fresh, modern design
has been earned through its portfolio of fine dining eateries in Toronto. Its flagship restaurant, Canoe, is
considered among the best in Canada, and is currently ranked number one by Toronto Life magazine and
the Zagat Survey (for the past five years consecutively).
Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill, Waterloo will offer relaxed, upscale, midrange dining in a casual, modern
environment. The menu provides a variety of world-inspired North American dishes, including freshly
prepared soups, salads, burgers, pastas, fire-roasted pizzas, seafood and a selection of grilled meats and
fishes. The restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner and bar dining daily as well as brunch every Saturday
and Sunday.
Oliver & Bonacini currently runs eight restaurants in the Toronto area and is the exclusive service provider
to the Toronto Board of Trade, with 30,000 square feet of event space in First Canadian Place. In 2010,
the company will open a fifth Café Grill at Yonge and Front, Toronto, as well as two unique concept
restaurants at the Bell Lightbox/Festival Tower, future home of the Toronto International Film Festival
Group. Oliver & Bonacini credits its success to uncompromising standards of quality and service, first-rate
training, innovative thinking and strong, talented team members.
