Youth in Philanthropy - how one young person has leveraged his talent to put on a benefit concert on behalf of the Guelph Food Bank.

Guelph - Patrick Lefler, a Grade 12 student at Bishop Macdonnel Catholic High School raised over $900 for the Guelph Food Bank at a concert Saturday evening November 21st.

He rented the Guelph Youth Music Centre, rented sound equipment, gathered a number of his talented friends and promoted the concert using a very cool poster created by another friend, Daniel Annis. About 110 people attended the spectacular evening of music and many others provided donations that were not able to attend.

Patrick Lefler and Friends show included:

Ashley Berndt and her band
Delhi (Guelph band comprised of David Scott and Brendan O’Halloran)

Patrick then did a set of his own music combining solo acoustic performances with welcoming other young artists to come up on stage with him.

Patrick’s friends included:

Andy Ferguson
Aaliyeh Afshar
Emily Grignon
Ben Childs
Laura Digravio
Monica Rogowski

Patrick was accompanied throughout his performance by his guitar teacher, Dan Drysdale. Dan and singer Ashley Berndt are both teachers at Jam School, a Guelph music school.

As well, donations were provided for baking done by the Celtics without Borders group at Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School and water donated by Nestle Waters Canada.

I have attached a high def photo taken of Patrick performing with Dan Drysdale in the background taken by James McAvoy, the photographyr teacher at Bishop Mac school as well as a copy of the promotional poster.
