Third local death from H1N1 confirmed
Waterloo Region - Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Associate Medical Officer of Health for Waterloo Region, today confirmed there has been a third local death attributed to H1N1.
“The deceased, a male, was over the age of 50, with underlying medical conditions,” stated Dr.Wang. We have received laboratory confirmation that the patient had H1N1. The total number of H1N1-confirmed deaths in the Region is three.”
“The H1N1 virus is still circulating in our community, and I would encourage everyone to be immunized” says Dr. Wang. “One additional clinic has been added to our H1N1 schedule, and immunizations are also available from family physicians, and at some local urgent care clinics.”
