Health and the Physical Environment
Waterloo Region - Region of Waterloo Public Health has released a report on Health and the Physical Environment.
The report, prepared in collaboration with a number of Regional departments, provides an overview of the physical environment in Waterloo Region, discusses associated health impacts, and presents policies and practices that support environmental enhancements in our community. The report is organized by themes - Land, Water, Air, and Community. Included in the report is information about associated health impacts, supported where available, by local data and information. The report also offers practical advice for residents on how to minimize negative health effects and protect the environment through their everyday practices.
This report is the third of its kind produced by the Region of Waterloo to regularly monitor and report on the status of our environment and associated health impacts.
The Report on Health and the Physical Environment Highlights covers main elements of the report, key messages, and mirrors the main sections of the full report. This smaller document also features Regional actions and offers practical suggestions for residents.
